Overall, Tipsy Pig BBQ is recognized as a standout spot for authentic, mouthwatering barbecue with a strong local reputation for excellence.
I love BBQ and this was close to the house. It is in a gas station but don't let that fool you. The ribs and the brisket were tender and moist. The beans and potato salad were flavorful. The food was excellent. Definitely will return, I love good Q! And it has been rated Best in Gwinnett for several years!
A few days ago I'd stopped by, wanting to try something new for lunch, on my way back in to work and got the two meat plate with the 1/2 a smoked chicken, brisket, mac n cheese, potato salad, and the Carolina gold sauce. I would not be able to indulge for a half hour, but even after all that time, everything was still tender and juicy. It took little convincing for my wife to be on board for BBQ for dinner tonight. She got the ribs and pulled pork, green beans, and mac n cheese with the sweet heat sauce, I got the smoked wings, brisket, potato salad, baked beans and regular mild sauce, and our toddler shared his fries and Brunswick stew with us in exchange for a few grown up bites. About 50ish for two "two meat" plates, a single serving of fries, and a cup of stew. We have a new favorite for when the family wants something special for dinner. 10/10 recommend
Went here, for the first time, once again on a delivery. When l went back for a 2nd delivery, l decided to order. I got the pulled pork plate with mac and cheese and greens. The pork was cooked to perfection. No gamey taste at all, very important to me. Mac and cheese tastes delicious. You can taste the cheese, and the greens w/real bacon did not disappoint either. Great meal!
My son and I had the 1/2 pound Brisket Meal and the Brisket Sandwich with Smoked Wings as an appetizer…Mind blown on how GREAT the BBQ FLAVOR of the Brisket and Wings, the portions were RIGHTeous! The PEOPLE were a vibe - definitely will be back soon. The pics do the food no real justice, you have to taste and see, it’s GOOD!
If you haven't tried the Tipsy Pig BBQ, you don't know what you're missing! This place is a little hole in the wall inside a gas station. As a chef for over 15 years, I can honestly say thank god I ran into this restaurant. The customer service from the moment you walk in is INCREDIBLE. They are so welcoming and attentive to all customers. The food, to say the least, is AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS, JUICY, SUCCULENT FALL OFF THE BONE BBQ MEATS! We had the rib plate and 2 sides & also the 2 meat plate and 2 sides. OMGGGGGG It was beyond our wildest expectation. Homemade BBQ sauce is overly DELICIOUS! The mac and cheese was on point cheesy & creamy, hot & well seasoned collard greens. The green beans were also well seasoned & hot. The potatoe salad was fresh & cold as it should definitely be.. along with the coleslaw, which, in my opinion, was the best I've ever tried other than KFC. The blackberry cobbler. OMG is another favorite I can go on & on about this place, but SERIOUSLY ITS A MUST EAT if you're ever in the Five Forks Trickum area just off Oak Dr. drop oj by and try there BBQ you wont regret it! We LOVED it & I'm sure you and your family would LOVE IT AS WELL. BTW... THEY HAVE SO MANY BEST OF GWINNETT AWARDS & NOW I KNOW WHY.
Looking for a fast bite without the typical “burger” style, my daughter and I decided to try this family owned BBQ joint within a local gas station. They have their own smoke hut outside too, and a counter inside. The whole place is bright, clean, friendly and inviting. The people are super friendly, and the menu is full of traditional southern BBQ choices and a few neat twists. The pulled pork is solid, good smoke flavor, low fat content, well cooked. The home made lemonade is an unexpected treat! There’s 5 choices of sauce and all of them are solid efforts and the sweet one called “regular” is my favorite. There’s a vinegary CAROLINA sauce, 2 levels of spicy sauce, and a mustard based GOLD sauce. Pricing is a bit high for such a neighborhood joint, but their excellent service and delicious food is worth it.
The employees were friendly. The food was good. I had the Memphis bbq sandwich, and it was nice with the house bbq sauce. I didn't care for the potato salad because it was strong in mustard and a little thin. The blackberry cobbler good. It would have been great with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
